1. The Beechworth Lunatic Asylum, Australia
This is a decommissioned psychiatric hospital located in Victoria, Australia. It used to be self-sufficient, but it was closed in 1995. If you hit this place, you can take part of the nightly ghost tours, visiting the historic buildings. One of the most famous spirits haunting the place is the one belonging to Matron Sharp.
2. Monte Cristo Homestead – New South Wales, Australia
A property of historic significance, standing on a hill in the town of Junee. It is regarded as Australia’s most haunted house, with hundreds of reports each year. Strange lights, ghosts, slammed doors, animal mutilations and weird sounds seem to animate the creepy atmosphere of this place. More than one murder took place in this house, which was also used as a prison for a mentally impaired man.
3. Ancient Ram Inn, Gloucestershire, England
John Humphries, the owner of this place, claims it is one of the most haunted places on Earth. Numerous reports of paranormal researchers speak of spectral lights and ghostly figures walking around the Inn.Legend has it that some sort of paranormal power coming from the center of Stonehenge is feeding the place with spiritual energy. Furthermore, a pagan burial ground is believed to have existed on the current location of the Inn.
4. Borgvattnet (The Haunted Vicarage) – Sweden
Many local families reported strange spectral activities around this place, most renowned for a haunted vicarage, which was also featured in an episode of Ghost Hunters International series. Moving objects and a woman’s figure apparently are the most popular things found in the various reports. Legend says that this old vicarage was the murder site of a baby.

5. LawangSewu – Semarang, Indonesia
A colonial-styled building located in Central Java seems to have been terrorizing the surrounding neighbors with its spiritual activity. While its name actually means "Thousand Doors", “Thousands Ghosts” would also seem pretty much suitable. The building used to be a prison, where many executions took place during World War II and after. Headless ghouls seem to be the most common paranormal creature inhabiting the building.
6. The Axe Murder House,Villisca, Iowa, USA
It all started in the creepy evening of June 9, 1912, when six members of the owner’s family and two guests were found slaughtered in the Moore residence. The crime is still unsolved. Nowadays you can choose from a range of daylight and overnight tours, in order to visit this horrifying murder house.
7. Calcasieu Courthouse, Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA
Designed by Favrot and Livaudais, inspired by the ancient Roman-Doric architectural style, the building dominates the surrounding city with its colossal beauty. It is also believed to be inhabited by many spirits and locals say they always hear strange noises coming from the building, as if someone is crying there, especially at night.
8. The Whaley House, San Diego, California
It seems that the Whaley family members enjoyed their residence so much that they never abandoned it, not even after their death. Numerous televisions and various publications repeatedly reported haunting scenes happening in that place. Violet Whaley committed suicide in this house in 1885 and another man, Yankee Jim, died by hanging on the same murder stage.So disturbing!

A palace of the creeps and definitely one of the most haunted places in the USA. It looks just like a simple house from the outside, but once you get in, it seems almost impossible to get out before experiencing all sorts of paranormal phenomena. Sallie seems to be “the imaginary friend” of a member who used to inhabit this place. At the same time, it apparently is one of the ghosts wondering around the house.
10. San Zhi UFO Houses, Taiwan
These buildings somehow resemble Futuro Houses, which can be found in other parts of Taiwan as well. They were intended as a vacation resort, but the idea was soon abandoned, due to numerous car accident deaths and several suicides which took place during construction. They’re described as “ruins of the future” and they seem to be home for many lost souls belonging to the underworld.
