Junkanoo Festival, Bahamas


The Junkanoo Festival draws its inspiration from the African Culture. It takes place in the Bahamas and former British colonies. The festival is all about dancers giving spectacular dance performances, people dressed up in colorful costumes and ringing cowbells in the lane. The celebration begins at midnight. It is the biggest festival that takes place in the Bahamas.

This is an annual festival that is held in the month of February in the Caribbean, Latin America and South America. The most flamboyant and grand carnival celebration in the Caribbean takes place in Trinidad. This carnival is all about fun, frolic, dance, music, joy and food. Pirates Week: Cayman Islands


This is one of its kind festivals held in the Cayman Island in the month of November. This 11 daylong event is a grand celebration where you can don an eye patch, gulp as much rum as you want and feel like a pirate. The festival comprises of musical performances, parades, treasure hunts, street dances, heritage days, finger licking food, sporting events and costume competitions.

Reggae Sumfest: Montego Bay, Jamaica


This is the place to be for all the music lovers. Every year in the month of July, Jamaica dedicates 4 amazing nights to the music like reggae, dancehall, dub and ska. A Sunday Beach Party is organized at the Walter Fletcher Beach and the Aquasol Theme Park. Live music concerts are organized at the Catherina Hall Entertainment Complex.

Crop Over: Barbados


In the past years, a ceremony was held to cherish the end of the harvest of Sugar Cane in the month of July. This ceremony has literally evolved by leaps and bounds and has now turned into a 5 week long grand celebration from the month of July to August. The celebration is all about parties, concerts, parades, markets and what not. The King and the Queen of Crop, the cane cutters who have been most productive are also crowned.

Sailing Week: Antigua

Every April, the international racers and the amateur sailing lovers gather in Antigua for a week long sailing competition and a grand party. The racing is held at the south coast of Antigua. After racing for the entire day, the racers join each other for the drinks at the Event Village at Nelson's Dockyard in English Harbour.

That's a Malayan flying fox, one of several types of fruit bats. It is the largest species of bat on our planet with a body size of about 2 feet and a wingspan that can stretch to 6 feet wide. They weight 6 pounds. They've got super adorable faces, and are completely harmless to humans! Nummy fruit, on the other hand, doesn't stand a chance! they known as the large flying fox (Pteropus vampyrus), greater flying fox. Because of their large size, people have overhunted fruit bats for food, Malayan flying fox is listed as near-threatened in the IUCN Red List. Save Malayan flying foxes.
